The Brave New Tasks for MediaEval 2012 are: User Account Matching, Search and Hyperlinking and MusiClef: Multimodal Music Tagging.
Brave New Tasks are "closed tasks", which do not open their sign-up to the research community at large. Rather, they are by invitation only. We aim to keep it as simply as possible, however, to obtain an invitation (write an email to the organizers and ask to be invited).
Brave New Tasks have been introduced in MediaEval 2012 as a way to incubate promising, but risky, new tasks, in order to mature them to the point that they are robust enough to run as main tasks. The intention is that the mechanism of Brave New Tasks will contribute to the sustainable growth and continued innovation of MediaEval.
